Our mission is to serve and protect the Catholic community through faith, vigilance, compassion, and preparedness. SMSM Guardians support clergy, parishioners, and visitors by promoting a safe, welcoming environment and responding calmly when help is needed. Inspired by St. Michael the Archangel, we strive to defend the vulnerable and reflect Christ’s love through service.

St. Michael’s Service Ministry was developed in 2025 in response to the growing need for a coordinated ministry focused on safety, hospitality, emergency preparedness, and compassionate service within the Catholic community. After months of planning, recruitment, training, and spiritual formation, the first Guardians were formally commis
St. Michael’s Service Ministry was developed in 2025 in response to the growing need for a coordinated ministry focused on safety, hospitality, emergency preparedness, and compassionate service within the Catholic community. After months of planning, recruitment, training, and spiritual formation, the first Guardians were formally commissioned in March 2026. SMSM continues to grow as a faith-driven ministry committed to protecting the vulnerable, supporting clergy and parishioners, and serving with courage, vigilance, and compassion.

St. Michael’s Service Ministry is made up of dedicated volunteers from a variety of professional backgrounds, including active and retired law-enforcement officers, military veterans, registered nurses, emergency medical personnel, business professionals, and experienced parish volunteers. Together, our Guardians provide safety awareness

Together, our Guardians provide safety awareness, hospitality, emergency preparedness, medical assistance, and support during Masses and special events. This diverse combination of training, experience, faith, and service helps SMSM create a welcoming and secure environment for clergy, parishioners, and visitors.
